Why would you need the HSP Cold Air Intake for the LBZ Duramax?
The factory intake on the LBZ Duramax is something that needs to be addressed. With a lackluster design and just overall restrictive to the engine changing the intake on this engine needs to be a priority. We also see that the stock filter elements are not the greatest and do wear out faster than most would like. The stock intake is leaving power on the table and leaving you with a less reliable setup and nobody wants that.

What does the HSP Cold Air Intake do differently?
To start the HSP Cold Air Intake has a dyno-proven increase of 20 horsepower and 58 pounds of torque on average. We achieve this using a few different techniques. To start we wanted to increase the size of the intake tube in the HSP Cold Air Intake. We bumped the tube to a 4 1/2" mandrel bend, this proves an extremely consistent and free-flowing path for that air to travel through. This allows the HSP Cold Air Intake to outperform other intakes on the market. We also created the heatshield box to prevent the hot air inside the engine bay from entering the air intake system.
