just got this turbo installed and it is night and day difference from stock. the whistle sounds amazing and it spools perfectly. it makes my truck a blast to drive again! highly recommend this one.

Since my LB7 trans was built & I've always wished the LB7 had a bit more turbo noise, I began looking into various drop in options. I considered a 64mm Stealth, RDS 64mm, Cheetah 63.5, BD Diesel 63 etc etc. No matter what, DDP was the only brand that I had yet to find a negative review for.... not to mention these guys have gone above in the beyond in the past to get a new ECM out to me in Boston when I had a ton of trouble sourcing a replacement (because I bricked my own flashing an update). Anyways - about the turbo:
1. Sound. Holy hell. The 10 blade stage 2 really sings. Its a MAJOR difference in sound & I love it. The whistle increase is very much from the exhaust (as opposed to the audible increase you get from adding a metal intake & horn). Even at idle (in Drive with foot on brake so theres some load... you can hear it. Fwiw I have a 3 inch flo pro DP & 5 inch magnaflow after that (no muffler).
2. Performance. I tow a gooseneck horse trailer quite often (part of the reason I went with this unit), & I noticed 0 loss of low end power or response. Spool was every bit as quick as stock. After a week I had duramaxtuner send me the built trans version of my 5 position files (I hadn't done so post trans build last summer). Obviously a big jump in power... but with the revised tuning, low end response is actually better than the OEM turbo. The increased timing obviously plays a role there... but still.
Overall incredibly happy with my purchase & the lifetime warranty on the stage 2 unit cant be beat. Customer service from DDP is second to none. 12/10 recommend this if you're trying to narrow down 64mm options.

I’m a GM World Class Tech, bought this turbo for my 01 LB7, it’s been studded and cupless head, Air intake, Turbo horn 5 inch exhaust and new injectors, I wanted to bump up the turbo, I purchased this turbo with the downpipe, and from another place bought new return and oil feed lines to be safe. This turbo is amazing the sound is perfect, the fitment is perfect, the quality is perfect, and added power is perfect you couldn’t ask for a better upgraded
